How Does The Plan Work?

When you contact Demaray's to preplan your funeral we will send a counselor to walk you through the preplanning process. The following are the steps we go through:

  1. We review our price list and services with you. Then you select the services that you desire.
  2. We review our merchandise items (ie: caskets, vaults, urns etc.), and you select the items you desire.
  3. We review the miscellanious items and again you choose the ones that fit your needs.
  4. We create an estimate using the selections you have just made and give you the different payment options.
  5. You determine how much you want to spend and choose the pre-funding option that fits your budget.
  6. Then we fill out paperwork as to put everything in writing. This is the only price that you will ever pay for the services you have selected. there is no additional cost to you, your heirs or your estate. The funds are transferable to any funeral home. The death benefit is paid to the performing funeral establishment.

Idaho State law requires that a Funeral Director use a third party investment fund for all preneed transactions. Therefore Demaray's uses an insurance company devoted entirely to preneed planning. The purpose for using a third pary is so the interest that is earned on the insurance policy is used to offset what effects inflation may have had from the time that the plan was first established to the date that the services and merchandise is provided by the funeral home. Demaray's will return any excess in funds that may remain after the funeral and burial expenses have been paid to the family of the deceased or to the estate. In the event that the cost of services and merchandise exceeded the amount of money that was returned on the initial investment . The family or the estate owes nothing. We will perform the services and provide the merchandise selected for the amount in the policy. As such the funeral that you selected at today's cost is guaranteed to be fulfilled in the future with no additional cost being incurred by your family or your estate.

Demaray's Funeral Service inc. has reviewed many of the third pary investment options available today and continue to evaluate new investment options that are offered. We have selected the Great Western Insurance Company as our primary choice of preplanning investment. The Great Western Insurance Company was developed specifically for the preplanning Funeral Service industry. Just as making a will is a necessary part of our lives, proper Estate Planning and Funeral Pre-arrangements are equally just as important. It is particularly important for those who are considering placing a loved one in a nursing or skilled care facility. The state of Idaho will permit you to set aside in a properly established irrevocable burial account, funds to provide for the funeral and burial of your loved one.

These funds are then excluded from the personal assets of your loved one and in the event that it becomes necessary to apply for public assistance after the personal assets have been exhausted, you can be assured that a quality funeral service will still be able to be provided with out becoming a financial burden on those who remain.
